Kalyan C Rallabandi
I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing at the A.B. Freeman School of Business (Tulane University). I obtained my PhD (Quantitative Marketing) from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2022.
My research interests lie at the intersection of quantitative marketing and industrial organization, with a focus on digital marketing. I draw upon theories of consumer behavior, from psychology & economics, as they relate to consumer's preferences & decisions in response to digital & online marketing interventions.
Industry Experience & Education
My 7 years of industry experience spans across IT and FMCG/CPG sectors. After completing my Bachelors in Engineering (2004), I worked as a Software Engineer & IT Consultant at Infosys Technologies Ltd. in India & Australia. After my MBA, from IIM Lucknow (2009-11), I worked in FMCG/CPG Sales & Marketing for 2.5 years. I was an Area Sales Manager with ITC Ltd and Pepsico (India). In the run up to my PhD, I received a Graduate Diploma in Economics from University of London (LSE) in 2014 and an MA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin in 2015.
Research & Methodology
My research interests include Quantitative Marketing, Online Platforms, Advertising, Digital Marketing and User Generated Content. I primarily use observational data. My methodological interests include Causal Inference and Machine Learning.
